Inter American University of Puerto Rico (IAUPR) offers programs leading to professional licensure in Puerto Rico. The curriculum of these programs has been designed to meet the educational part of the licensure/certification requirements and preparing students to apply for licensure exams in Puerto Rico. Each state and territory of the United States, vary in what their licensure boards require to be licensed and the process to obtain a professional license. The determination as to obtaining a licensure or being employed in the profession after graduating from a program in another state, is made by each state or territory professional licensing boards.
If the program of interest requires a license or certification to be employed, IAUPR's prospective students located outside of Puerto Rico are recommended to confirm with their state/territory professional licensing agency, if the program meets the local educational requirements; this, in addition to the information we can provide as an educational institution. It is important to take into consideration that, relocating while enrolled in a program, may impact meeting the licensure requirements of the new state/territory.
In compliance with the current federal regulations, in particular sections 34 CFR 668.43 (a) (5) (v) and 34 CFR 668.43 (c) “Professional Licensure Notifications”, we inform you that IAUPR is in the process of determining whether the curriculum of its academic programs that require licenses or professional certification to practice the profession, meet the requirements established for these purposes by the various states and territories of the United States, where our students are located. At this moment, the determinations have not been made.
