FEDERAL SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT

What is a Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant?

A Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is an aid for undergraduate students who have exceptional financial need. These are students who have the lowest Expected Family Contributions (EFC) and A FSEOG gives priority to students who have been awarded Pell Grants. You do not have to repay a FSEOG.

What is the difference between a FSEOG and a Pell Grant?

The US Department of Education guarantees that the university receives enough money to fund the Federal Pell Grant. However,  there is no guarantee that a qualified student may receive an FSEOG. Students receive FSEOG according to available funds at each university.

How much can I get?

You can receive between $100 and $4,000 per year, depending on when you apply, your financial need, the cost of tuition at the university you are attending and the financial aid policies of the university.

How will I be paid?

Inter American University will credit your account and will reimburse any excess funds.
